<p>In recent news from <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/uk"><strong>The Guardian</strong></a>, a top estate agent shared that UK house prices are likely to go up in 2024, defying earlier expectations of a decline. This boost is thanks to a competitive mortgage pricing battle and the anticipation of interest rate cuts by the Bank of England, sparking renewed interest in the property market.</p>



<p>After a year of prices falling in 2023, global property consultancy <strong>Knight Frank </strong>has changed its prediction. They now expect UK house prices to increase by 3% in 2024, overturning the earlier estimate of a 4% drop.</p>



<p>Against a backdrop of decreasing inflation and growing excitement about potential interest rate cuts, Knight Frank believes that the recent increase in mortgage approvals will lead to a significant rise in property transactions. They predict a potential increase of at least 10% in transactions throughout the year.</p>



<p>Adding to the positive outlook, the online property website <strong><a href="https://www.rightmove.co.uk/">Rightmove</a></strong> reports a considerable rise in asking prices for new sellers. Between December and January, asking prices went up by an average of 1.3%, equal to £4,571. This increase is the most significant for this time of year since before the pandemic, suggesting a strong and thriving UK housing market in 2024. The event, held in aid of <a href="https://www.curryonthestreet.co.uk/?fbclid=IwAR2BaoNpx5DNYX42ko5csIj2kckAwn8rCcbTjoZzjoqb0_I66Bhk0R7fu88" class="ek-link"><strong>Curry on the Street,</strong></a> aims to support this incredible organisation that provides warm meals, shelter, and essential mental health advice to those who need it most. Our contribution ensures that the Christmas spirit is felt by all, even in challenging times. The toys will be a part of over 250 gift hampers arranged by the centre for young children in the community. These hampers, complete with wrapping paper and Sellotape, allow parents and guardians to actively participate in the joy of giving during the holiday season. Skipton Properties is proud to support <a href="https://www.opendoorcentre.org.uk/" class="ek-link"><strong>Colne Open Door Centre</strong></a> in their mission to provide counselling, unemployment advice, and free food parcels to those in need.</p>

<p>Porting a mortgage is relatively uncomplicated. First, speak with your lender and inform them about your intention to move. They will review your circumstances to verify your continued eligibility for the existing mortgage deal. Your financial situation may have evolved since your initial mortgage application, so they will need to check your eligibility for the deal.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Assuming your reassessment proves successful, you can then &#8220;port&#8221; the mortgage to finance your new property. Essentially, the process mirrors what you would go through when purchasing a home with a new mortgage offer.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How can you work out your eligibility to port a mortgage?</h2>



<p>Most mortgages are portable, and this flexibility is typically an inherent feature of the mortgage agreement with your lender. Nevertheless, it&#8217;s advisable to consult with your lender to confirm whether this option is available in your case.</p>

<p>A skilled site manager combines technical expertise, outstanding communication abilities, and problem-solving prowess. At Skipton Properties, we are dedicated to exceeding these standards, delivering unmatched quality and expert craftsmanship for our valued homeowners.</p>



<p>We&#8217;re approaching this work anniversary with a unique twist, and now, we&#8217;ll hand the mic over to John himself!</p>



<p><em>I&#8217;ve had the privilege of serving as the Site Manager at Skipton Properties for a solid two years. Over this period, I&#8217;ve played a significant role in several projects, with Ebor Mills marking my initial venture. We constructed new homes at Ebor Mills and masterfully transformed the existing Warehouse and Spinning Mill. It was a true labour of passion, but the final outcome justified all the sweat and toil. What&#8217;s more, I&#8217;m thrilled to share that we&#8217;ve recently earned an LABC award for said development, an achievement I take immense pride in!</em> You can read more on that <a class="ek-link" href="https://www.skiptonproperties.com/2023-labc-building-excellence-awards/">here. </a></p>



<p><em>I was asked, what&#8217;s the driving force behind my continued presence here? It&#8217;s the incredible team I&#8217;m fortunate to work with. I&#8217;ve just transitioned to <a class="ek-link" href="https://www.skiptonproperties.com/developments/the-alders/">The Alders</a> in Skipton, where we&#8217;re in the midst of building 77 new residences. Commencing work on a project already in progress can be a bit challenging, but I genuinely can&#8217;t wait to dive in and contribute!</em></p>
