<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The initiative is being driven by the APPG’s new secretariat, Edwin de Silva, an industry veteran and Co-Chair for the Regional Builders Hub Steering Group in support of The King&#8217;s Foundation and Chair of the APPG, Andrew Lewer MBE, Member of Parliament Northampton South. The campaign&#8217;s pledges include increasing the visibility of successful women within the sector, establishing a senior mentoring network, and collaborating with trade bodies to promote the industry to women of all ages.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As part of the &#8216;Magnificent Seven Housebuilders,&#8217; my peers and I are dedicated to mentoring and supporting more women to become SME housebuilders. This mentorship aspect is crucial, as it aims to guide aspiring female leaders through the intricacies of the industry and provide them with the tools and confidence needed to succeed.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>What are we doing at Skipton Properties to support the campaign and bring more women into roles in construction?</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Well, we&#8217;re currently developing a more robust apprenticeship programme to ensure our apprentices thrive; considering the shortage of women in our industry apprenticeships will be key in reshaping it. Additionally, we&#8217;re elevating several of our female managers and other personnel into key roles in the business to develop their potential to lead. I&#8217;ll be taking a key role in this, alongside <a href="https://www.skiptonproperties.com/meet-the-family/">my sister, Caroline and our Financial Director, Luke</a>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Finally, over the next few months, we&#8217;ll be shining a light on the diverse range of women in our business in the hope you may find out a little bit more about what they do each day, how that shapes our business, hopefully raising awareness and interest in these roles.</p>

Empowering Women in Housebuilding: Sarah’s Evolving Journey with the ‘I am a Housebuilder’ Campaign

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We hope our attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the intricate tiling to the stone detailing that has been painstakingly rebuilt, Our team put so much love into restoring these two homes, straight from our family to yours.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Both properties have been styled with beautiful kitchens, quartz worktops, luxury flooring and original real oak beams. The specification also includes energy-efficient technology, premium fixtures, and contemporary interior design.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These original buildings have been re-imagined into two beautiful and unique three bedroom homes, creating a flexible living space that can adapt to the needs and demands of modern family life.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On the lower level, a spacious living room welcomes you from the entrance hall, offering access to the convenient under-stairs storage. Flowing seamlessly, the living room extends into an expansive open-plan kitchen/dining area, forming a spacious and interconnected living space. The free standing island kitchen design is ideal for entertaining, the lush turfed garden and sizable patio through double patio doors, perfect for indoor-outdoor gatherings.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a single leading off the central landing. The master suite is especially large, accommodating a spacious en-suite, while the remaining bedrooms share a family bathroom with bath.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For <strong>Plot 76</strong>, The Taylor, we went for a stunning Halesworth sage green &amp; porcelain kitchen design with bespoke Knurled Aged Brass effect handles, these handles are not only unique but bring warmth and a rustic texture into the kitchen, the sleek Miami Vena Quartz worktop, our most popular, was an easy choice. For the bathroom we went with a Monteverde Oak tile which brings a clean contemporary look yet still embodies the rustic feel throughout the home. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For <strong>Plot 77</strong>, The Taylor, we opted for the Chelford Navy, imparting a sophisticated and contemporary ambiance. The navy units stand in contrast against the pristine white Miami Vena Quartz worktops, creating an elegant visual balance. To complement the navy design, we selected a combination of classic round doorknobs and cupped handles, both with an aged brass effect, adding a touch of timeless charm to the space.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of our favourite features of <strong>Plot 77</strong> is the Cast Dark Blue tiles in the En-suite, the dark navy tiles echo the color palette of the kitchen units, creating a sense of flow throughout the living space. This colour consistency gives the sense of a well thought out space and also looks great in contrast with the dark oak beams.</p>
