A special shout-out goes to the wonderful homeowners I spoke with today. Hearing each of you share your experiences and seeing how you’ve settled in truly brought a smile to my face. The strong sense of community and neighbourly spirit at <a href="https://www.skiptonproperties.com/developments/croft-mill-foulridge/">Croft Mill</a> is precisely what we envisioned, and it&#8217;s incredibly inspiring to see how happy you all are in your new homes.</p>

Building a Community: A Heartfelt Visit to Croft Mill


<p>We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our stunning new show home at <a href="https://www.skiptonproperties.com/developments/the-willows-silsden/">The Willows in Silsden</a>. On <strong>Saturday 20th July</strong>, we will unveil the beautiful four-bedroom Emily show home, welcoming visitors from 10:30 am onwards.  We have also just transitioned our sales office from a cabin on-site to the elegant surroundings of ‘The Read&#8217;, situated next door to the Show Home.</p>



<p>As we prepare for our next launch, we thought we&#8217;d take a look at an old favourite: The Whittaker, a Show Home completed at The Green in Glusburn in 2019. Over the course of three insightful days, Sarah joined fellow SME leaders in the construction industry to explore cutting-edge trends and innovations that are shaping the future of &#8216;healthy&#8217; housing.</p>

<p>The event featured thought-provoking presentations on sustainability, smart building materials, and emerging technologies. These discussions highlighted the critical importance of preparing for the upcoming Future Homes Standard 2025, which will fundamentally shift how we approach energy efficiency and environmental impact in homebuilding.</p>



<p>As an SME developer, the opportunity to engage with pioneers such as Thomas Rau, who champion sustainability, and discover breakthrough innovations like smart windows and decarbonising materials, provided invaluable perspectives. This trip reaffirmed our commitment to building homes that not only meet but exceed future standards, offering long-term value and comfort to our homeowners.</p>

Nationwide Building Society recently reported a 3.2% increase in house prices in the year to September, up from 2.4% in August, making it the sharpest annual rise since late 2022. <p>Terraced homes have seen the biggest rise, with prices up by 3.5%, followed by semi-detached homes and flats. Detached homes remain a popular choice due to the increased demand for space during the pandemic, with prices rising nearly 26% since 2020.</p>

UK Property Market Gathers Strength: A Positive Outlook for Homebuyers

<p>The latest Zoopla House Price Index reveals a notable resurgence in UK housing market activity, supported by the lowest mortgage rates seen in over a year. With fixed mortgage rates now at their lowest in 15 months, buyer demand has surged, leading to a 25% increase in sales agreements compared to this time last year.</p>



<p>Today’s fixed mortgage rates have already priced in that financial markets expect UK interest rates to decrease over the next 2-5 years, which is further supporting buyer interest and market stability. This is good news for prospective homeowners, as many lenders are offering more competitive rates in anticipation of future interest rate cuts, allowing for a steady increase in market activity. You therefore don&#8217;t need to wait until the next Bank of England base rate review.</p>
