Welcoming Our First Homeowners to The Oaks, Skipton

Plot 53 - The Read - Externals - iPhone at The Oaks in skipton

This week marks an important milestone at The Oaks.

Our first three homeowners have got their keys, and for everyone involved in bringing this development to life, it’s a moment worth celebrating. There is something genuinely special about seeing the first completed homes no longer standing empty. Lights on. Driveways in use. A street scene beginning to form.

The landscaping has been laid, and it has instantly transformed the feel of the development. It brings the warmth of the stone elevations to life and softens the street scene, while the neutral window and door tones we selected sit beautifully against the black external lighting and detailing. Even on a grey Skipton morning, the homes feel grounded and confident. Built to belong.

The Oaks sits especially close to our hearts because Skipton is home. It’s where Sarah and I grew up, and where our family roots run deep. This year, Skipton was named the happiest place to live in Britain for the first time, topping Rightmove’s Happy at Home Index. For us, that makes building here feel even more meaningful. But wherever we build, our aim is always the same: to add something lasting to the places we work in, and to create homes that feel right for their setting.

Our first three homeowners have moved into The Read, The Ashton and The Boulder, and we’d like to warmly welcome them to The Oaks. Click the links for the Ashton and The Read to see these homes built at previous developments since we haven’t managed to get the camera out yet!

Homes Available at The Oaks

As the development continues to take shape, we still have a range of homes available for anyone looking to make The Oaks their home.

Three-bedroom homes (Priced from £375,000)

The Boulder is ready to view now. A striking double-fronted three-bedroom detached home, set in an elevated position with extended views. Both the lounge and kitchen/dining are dual-aspect and open onto the private garden, while upstairs the principal bedroom enjoys a spacious en-suite with a large shower. A home with real kerb appeal, light-filled proportions, and a layout that simply works.

The Elliott is our three-storey show home, launching in March, with a particularly welcoming street presence. Inside, it offers a bright open-plan living floor, a south-facing garden, an integral garage and three generous bedrooms, designed to flex easily around modern family life.

The Cooper, inspired by traditional Yorkshire terraces and refined as a previous show home design, features a Juliet balcony lounge, sociable kitchen and dining space, a south-facing garden, and integral garage.

We also have the Loxley and the Read, traditional two-storey homes currently available to reserve with a guide price as they are further into the build programme.

Four-bedroom executive homes (Priced from £550,000)

The Larkin is a spacious four-bedroom home set across three light-filled levels, with a standout open-plan living floor, two generous bedroom suites and a large usable garage.

The Avon is a striking three-storey detached family home with a beautifully open kitchen, dining and living space, bi-fold doors to the garden, four bedrooms and a flexible top-floor retreat. Solar panels and EV charging come as standard.

The Crowther  is one of our most loved designs, first introduced at The Rise in Harden. It’s a home that balances elegance with usability, offering generous proportions, strong architectural presence and a layout that flows naturally from room to room. Designed with family life in mind, it feels both substantial and welcoming. We’re proud to be bringing this house type to The Oaks.
