<p>Yesterday, a team from Skipton Properties, alongside representatives from other local businesses, took part in the <em>BIG CLEAN</em> event. Our mission was to help prepare four of<a href="https://www.theprincipletrust.co.uk/"> <strong>The Principle Trust&#8217;s</strong></a> holiday homes located in Blackpool&#8217;s Marton Mere Haven Holiday Village, for the families who will benefit from them. These homes offer a much-needed respite for families facing difficult circumstances, allowing them to spend quality time together in peaceful and calm surroundings, away from the stresses of hospital visits or everyday life.</p>

<p>The clean-up day was filled with hard work, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose. We were also fortunate to have Zoflora donate cleaning products, which made the task even easier, leaving the homes sparkling clean and ready for their new guests. To keep us going throughout the day, <strong><a href="https://www.theprincipletrust.co.uk/">The Principle Trust</a> </strong>kindly provided us with a lunch and doughnuts – a perfect treat after a hard day&#8217;s work.</p>

<p>The event saw our office host a fun <strong>Great British Bake Off-style competition</strong> with a pink twist! Each delicious treat had to be pink, and our enthusiastic judges crowned <strong>Holly Emmott</strong> as the Bake Off champion, with <strong>Sarah Barraclough</strong> taking second place and <strong>Cora Mustoe</strong> securing third.</p>

Over the course of three insightful days, Sarah joined fellow SME leaders in the construction industry to explore cutting-edge trends and innovations that are shaping the future of &#8216;healthy&#8217; housing.</p>

<p>The event featured thought-provoking presentations on sustainability, smart building materials, and emerging technologies. These discussions highlighted the critical importance of preparing for the upcoming Future Homes Standard 2025, which will fundamentally shift how we approach energy efficiency and environmental impact in homebuilding.</p>



<p>As an SME developer, the opportunity to engage with pioneers such as Thomas Rau, who champion sustainability, and discover breakthrough innovations like smart windows and decarbonising materials, provided invaluable perspectives. This trip reaffirmed our commitment to building homes that not only meet but exceed future standards, offering long-term value and comfort to our homeowners.</p>
