Our Purpose

Crafted with care.
Designed to last.

We have a new name:

Introducing Verity & Co Homes

Welcome, we’re so glad you’re here. After almost 40 years as Skipton Properties, sharing this new chapter brings a mix of excitement, pride and, we’ll admit, a few gentle nerves.

For us as a family, it’s an emotional step too. The film we share here brought more than a few tears, for both of us and for our mum, Linda, because it honours our dad, Brian, the founder of Skipton Properties, and the values he built this company on.

We hope you’ll take a moment to watch it. It captures the heart of who we are and offers a true sense of the people behind our homes.

Family built, with heart.

“As a family-run business rooted in Yorkshire and Lancashire, we create thoughtfully designed new homes that feel considered, characterful, and built to last.”

Guided by what matters

They’re not abstract words; they’re what you’ll see and feel in our homes, and in every interaction with our team.

Find your home

Building homes is complex.

We don’t claim perfection. But our values guide how we act, how we improve, and how we show up for customers. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to.

They help us make thoughtful decisions, from how we design a development to how we handle a difficult conversation. They remind us to put care into every detail, to listen, and to take responsibility when things don’t go as planned.

We know there’ll be moments where we need to revisit, rethink, or put something right. What matters is how we do that, with honesty, attention, and a willingness to improve.

Our values>

Family built,
with heart.

Our story began with Brian Verity, whose belief was simple: homes should be built to last, and built with heart. Today, that spirit continues through his daughters and the wider “& Co” team, many of whom have been with us for decades.

But this value is about more than family. It’s about the way we care for people, our colleagues, our customers, and the communities we help to shape. We listen, we treat people with respect, and we put care into every decision. When you choose one of our homes, you become part of our story too.

Tomorrow in mind,
today in focus.

From the very beginning, we’ve taken pride in doing things properly. It shows in the materials we choose, the details we refine, and the standards we hold ourselves to. For almost 40 years, our homes have felt special from the day they’re lived in, and their quality has continued to shine through for generations.

This commitment isn’t about the past alone. It’s the principle that will always define us: designing with thought, building with integrity, and creating homes that last for generations.

Inspired by tradition,
defined by quality.

Homebuilding is never static. Needs change, lifestyles shift, and expectations grow. We don’t chase trends, but we do evolve with purpose. That means keeping what works, improving what doesn’t, and introducing new ideas where they add real value.

From more sustainable choices to layouts that adapt to modern life, we think about tomorrow while focusing on what matters today.

Crafted with care. Designed to last.

“We’ve grown from a small family team to a trusted local builder, still guided by the same care and attention that defined our very first homes.”

Each one a part of a family's story

Our homes and communities

We’ve built almost 4,000 homes across Yorkshire and Lancashire, carefully choosing locations that inspire us. Every development has its own identity, shaped by local character, thoughtful design, and the families who bring it to life.
