Buiding futures: apprenticeships at Verity & Co Homes
At Verity & Co Homes, one of the things we’re most proud of is seeing people grow. There’s something special about welcoming new talent, sharing the experience within our team, and watching confidence and careers take shape. Apprenticeships mean a great deal to us, they’re a way to pass on knowledge, open doors, and make a real contribution to the homes and communities we create.
Take Holly, who joined us as a Sales Assistant before moving into the Pre-Construction team. On Thursday, she graduated from her apprenticeship and now works as an Assistant Technical Coordinator, combining her studies with real, hands-on experience in how our homes are designed and delivered.
“For me, the apprenticeship has been a huge confidence boost,” says Holly. “I’ve learned so much about the design process and I’ve been able to put my knowledge from college straight into practice. It’s really rewarding to see my work make a difference on live projects.”
Her role has grown quickly. Holly now supports with drawings, works alongside architects and consultants, and helps prepare developments for build. Far from being ‘just’ training, her apprenticeship has given her trust, responsibility, and a chance to apply her creativity to real projects.
“I’ve felt really well supported by my colleagues,” she adds. “Whenever I’ve faced a challenge, there’s always been someone there to help me through it.”
Our Managing Director, Sarah Barraclough, is also passionate about opening doors for more women in housebuilding. Through her involvement with I am a Housebuilder, she continues to champion the importance of visible role models and opportunities for women in the industry — something that makes moments like Holly’s graduation even more meaningful.
As we look to the future, apprenticeships will remain a cornerstone of how we grow at Verity & Co Homes. They allow us to share almost four decades of experience while creating pathways for the next generation to build meaningful, lasting careers in construction. Because just like our homes, the best foundations are the ones built to last.
