The Willows, Silsden

A Fresh Start, Without Leaving the Life They Love: Ros & Sean’s Story at The Willows, Silsden

After more than 30 years in their previous home, Sean and Rosalind (Ros) weren’t actively searching for something new. But sometimes, the right home appears when you least expect it.

Originally, they had registered their interest at Bolton Gardens. But one drive out changed everything.

“We drove past and saw The Hartford,” Ros recalls.

“We just fell in love with the beautiful finish. And then the Part Exchange sealed the deal!”

That was the moment their next chapter quietly began.

A Home Designed for This Chapter

Falling for The Hartford

What made The Hartford feel right wasn’t just the design – it was the setting.

The aspect, the plot position, the sense of privacy despite being at the front of the development – it all clicked. There was kerb appeal, space to entertain, and a layout that simply worked better for them than anything they’d seen before.

A Space That Supports the Life They Love

Now settled in The Hartford at The Willows, their days revolve around the lifestyle Silsden makes possible.

For Sean, it’s cycling straight into the Dales. For Ros, it’s a two-minute walk from their front door onto the canal – perfect for early morning runs. Their favourite route loops to Kildwick café and back, with Gryff the dog never far behind.

“The open-plan downstairs – the large dining kitchen – that’s what really did it for us,” Shaun says.

It felt like a home designed not just to live in, but to enjoy.

“It’s the perfect size,” Ros says. “And we love how private it feels.”

The Feeling of Home

After three decades in one house, the move naturally felt strange at first.

“It didn’t feel like ours straight away,” Ros admits. “But once we settled, I just feel lucky. The area makes me so happy.”

That quiet gratitude now defines how they feel every time they walk through the front door.

A Supported Move

Their Part Exchange journey wasn’t without its final-week stresses, but the support they received made all the difference.

Karen, their sales advisor, guided them through the process, while Taylor Rose Solicitors – recommended by Verity & Co Homes – provided reassurance at every stage. Even since moving in, the aftercare team have continued to impress.

“Rosie has been so quick to respond and organised,” they say. “And the men on site were always so lovely and respectful.”

Built for the Future

Now fully settled, Sean and Ros are clear about what this home represents.

“This is our home to retire in,” they share. “It’s easy to maintain, and we’ve no intention of moving ever again.”

After 30 years in one place, that’s no small statement!

At The Willows in Silsden, they haven’t just found a new house – they’ve found the right home for the future, without giving up the lifestyle they love.

What “Home” Means Now

For Sean and Ros, home is about contentment.

“Home to retire in – easy maintenance for the future. We’ve no intention of moving ever again.”
