Pendle Farm, Worsthorne

Rooted Where They Belong: Ruth & Alistair’s Story at Pendle Farm, Worsthorne

For Ruth, home has always meant Worsthorne. She grew up in the village, built her life there, and never imagined leaving. So when she spotted our Pendle Farm development while out on a run — and realised Verity & Co Homes would be building in the place she already called home — something immediately fell into place.

“We knew straight away we wanted one of your homes,”

says Ruth. “They’re in keeping with the village and look so much better than other new builds. It felt like fate that you were building here.”

Together, Ruth and Alistair wasted no time. They put their two-up-two-down cottage on the market, and it sold within a week. Shortly after, they reserved their four-bedroom detached home at Pendle Farm – buying early and watching their future home rise from the ground just a short walk from where they’d always lived.

A Home Designed for This Chapter

A Home to Grow Into

Leaving behind a smaller cottage, Ruth and Alistair knew exactly what they wanted next: space to grow, flexibility for the future, and a garden for their dog, Pumba.

“We wanted something we could grow into,” Ruth explains. “And a garden for Pumba was a must.”

Today, their new home offers just that. An upstairs office supports flexible working, while generous bedrooms and a dressing room provide space that can easily adapt when children come along one day.

Despite being much larger than their previous home, they’re surprised by how easy it is to care for.

“It’s really easy to keep on top of cleaning, even though it’s so much bigger,” says Ruth.

Everyday Living, Made Easy

Daily routines have been transformed by thoughtful design. After dog walks, entering through the garage straight into the utility room keeps muddy paws neatly contained.

Bi-fold doors open the kitchen and living space to the garden, creating an easy flow between inside and out – especially welcome when hosting friends.

“The kitchen island and open-plan downstairs are perfect. Having everyone together was exactly what we hoped for.”

As the day winds down, there’s one moment Ruth and Alistair especially love.

“The sunset over the garden makes coming home feel so peaceful.”

Traditional Character, Modern Comfort

One of the biggest draws to Pendle Farm was the look and feel of the homes. The random natural stone gives the development a timeless character, sitting comfortably within the village setting.

“They don’t feel like new builds,” Ruth explains. “They look like they’ve been around a while and suit the village perfectly.”

Inside, modern touches make everyday life simple — from the electric garage door they call “a godsend” to the generous utility space and energy efficiency that’s already reduced their bills compared to their old cottage.

“It feels like a luxury home, It’s so warm, and our bills are cheaper than before.”

Watching It All Come Together

Because they reserved early, Ruth and Alistair had a unique experience — watching their home being built from the very beginning.

“We could see the site from our old house. Watching the progress filled us with excitement.”

Throughout the process, the team made a lasting impression. From the friendly site manager to Gary’s support and Karen’s guidance through sales, they always felt at ease.

“Any questions were answered. We felt completely supported.”

Staying Where Their Roots Are

Now settled in, Ruth and Alistair say the neighbourhood feels exactly right.

“It’s dead quiet, and everyone is welcoming. We’ve lived in Worsthorne all our lives, so being able to grow our future here is ideal.”

What “Home” Means Now

For Ruth and Alistair, home is simple.

“Cosy. Perfect for this stage in life. The perfect home to upsize to – and to make more memories.”

And at Pendle Farm, in the village they’ve always loved, that future is already unfolding.
